We've handpicked these tours, workshops, and activities because they represent the kind of experiences we look for when we travel. Many we've done ourselves, and every one is the kind of experience we'd include if we were planning the perfect Provence itinerary for our own friends.

For years, we admired Aix's beautiful streets without really understanding the stories behind them. Exploring with a local guide gave us a whole new appreciation for the city, and now it's an experience we recommend to anyone visiting Provence.

Spend two hours with local artisan Elsa learning the traditional art of weaving a lavender fuseau. You'll harvest your own lavender, master the technique, and leave with a beautiful handmade souvenir that will scent your home for months.

Discover wine in a completely different way through this interactive sensory workshop in Gigondas. Using your sense of smell, you'll learn to identify the aromas found in Rhône wines before putting your new skills to the test during a guided tasting.

A woman in a pink dress playing pétanque outdoors, crouched down near silver metal balls and a red target ball, with a stone wall and tree in the background.

We'd watched locals play pétanque for years before finally joining in ourselves. Learning the game from a local gave us a whole new appreciation for this cherished Provençal tradition and made every village square feel a little more familiar.

Cycle through some of Provence's most beautiful countryside before stopping to meet local producers along the way. Visit a family-run goat farm to sample fresh chèvre, meet the goats, and finish with a wine tasting at a local vineyard.
